My friend, singer-songwriter Christian Beach, has earned some very well-deserved recognition for his 2008 self-titled CD (pictured at right).
“Christian Beach”* has been ranked as one of the top 100 albums released by New Jersey artists from 2001-2010, according to the new book “Are You Listening?” by Gary Wien.
*Although I didn’t take the photograph (that would be Charlie Pranio) gracing the cover, I do take pride in the fact that I did the design/layout for the CD. I went with a very minimalistic design to symbolize the stripped-down feel of the album and to put the focus on Christian, as this was his first solo CD after releasing a few EPs with bands he had fronted over the years.
Also, Christian will be playing his first show in a few months when he takes the stage at The Saint in Asbury Park, N.J., on Monday, June 20. He will be appearing with Stacey Earle & Mark Stuart and fellow local artist Keith Monacchio. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are $15. Click here for more details and tickets.
